He Leads Me From The Chaos

I was/am a huge fan of cartoons.  I particularly love when there was a big fight scene that occurred.  You know, the one where there is a big cloud of fight smoke, and all you see is flailing arms and legs outside the fight cloud.  I especially thought it was funny when you saw the main character, or the protagonist, slide out of the chaos, only to look back and see that the fight cloud is still there. Little did the fight cloud know that they were fighting nothingness...lol.  As I sat in meditation this morning, the visual in my mind of that scene actually gave me such a great word.  I'm going to share with you what I got out of it.

In life, just like in that fight cloud, we may feel like you are the center (and sometimes the catalyst) of the chaos.  Because it seems to be about us, we tend to hang around and fight for your life.  We look to be the fixer because it appears that we were the initiator.  But there is always something deeper at stake.  Understanding what Ephesians 6:12 teaches us, we realize that the battles that we face truly aren't about us!  We are just the vessels at which the chaos flows.  When we are able to understand that, we'll begin see that our situation isn't much different than that of the cartoon fight cloud.  God will give us that way of escape from that drama.  And when He does pull us out of the fight, we'll see that whether or not we're there, the chaos will continue (arms and legs flailing and all).

Our job is to recognize with our spiritual eyes what God is doing.  We tend to gravitate and cling to drama...its our nature.  We love a good battle.  But God has new tests and subsequently new testimonies for us.  If we spend all of our time looking back at the still-raging battle that is in our past, we'll never progress to what God has in store for us in the future.

Don't look back...there is a reason why our eyes only face forward!

Be Victorious Today,

MD
