So I vow to do much much better than I have with keeping up with this post. The homie, Guil Da, has commissioned me to log my journey, so I will do so.
So this saturday at 6:30pm, I will be opening up for Carl Jenkins & X'Altation at First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens (771 Somerset St, Somerset, NJ). I will be singing two songs off of my debut album, Close To You---all shameless plugs. In preparation for this event, I wondered to myself...how can I get myself ready??
Well, in Christian faith, we always talk about being a vessel to be used by God (see romans 12:1). Then i begin to think about more practical things. Like when you know your parents are coming over to you house for a visit, or if you are loaning your car to a friend. You do your best in both of those situations to CLEAN UP to ensure they have the best experience. If I want to be that vessel to be used by God, i figure it is best to clean myself up!! But how do you do that?
Here is the kicker...I will ask God to wash me, so that He can use me... Craziness, right. We really serve a God that is willing to do all of the dirty work for us? That's just how great He is. So i will fulfill my side of the bargain...I will go to Him in prayer asking him to wash me and cleanse me of all those things that are not like Him (see psalm 51:2).
I'm expecting big things on Saturday...so I am doing what i must to make myself available to Him. Wash me, so You can use me....
